Sally Jackson

Sally Jackson, born in Alton, Illinois, USA, in 1952. Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Associate Professor of Communication at the University of Oklahoma, Norman.

Fellow (1 September 1989 - 30 June 1990)

I have worked on two major projects this year, both resulting in book-length manuscripts and related shorter papers. The first project, done in collaboration with Frans van Eemeren, Rob Grootendorst, and Scott Jacobs, was planned as a central component of the Fallacies project. The book is entitled Reconstructing Argumentative Discourse. another manuscript, entitled Experimenting on Messages and Related Objects; How to Argue for Claims about Message Effects, developed from examination of a specific problem in communication research methodology.
