Opening of Academic Year on 5 September

On Wednesday 5 September, NIAS will officially open its doors to Fellows from the Research Year Group 2012/13. At this event, which will take place at the Conference Building, fellows can get acquainted with NIAS and each other. The programme can be found below.

Programme Opening of the Academic Year

• 15.30 - 16.00   Arrival, tea, coffee
• 16.00 - 16.20   “Introduction to NIAS”, by Aafke Hulk, Rector of NIAS
• 16.20 - 16.35   “A Bit of History”, by Jos Hooghuis, Research Planning & Communication
• 16.35 - 17.10    “Terrorscapes: Rethinking the Holocaust Paradigm”, by Rob van der Laarse, NIAS Fellow and Theme Group  Coordinator 2012/13
• 17.10 - 17.40   Fellows will each be given half a minute to introduce themselves
• 17.40 - 17.50   Group picture
• 18.00                Drinks, and Buffet Dinner
