Jacques van Doorn Fellowship
The Jacques van Doorn Fellowship is a joint venture of NIAS and the Department of Social Sciences and Public Administration of Erasmus University Rotterdam.
The fellowship is named after Dr. J.A.A. van Doorn (1925–2008), Professor of Sociology at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and founder of the Department of Social Sciences and Public Administration at the university. The research policy set out by Professor Van Doorn is still leading in the department. It focuses on a critical analysis of societal issues and theoretically innovative research, the results of which are highly relevant for social policy and for reflection on policy measures.
The Jacques van Doorn Fellow, who also holds the Prof. dr. J.A.A. van Doorn Chair at Erasmus University, is expected to contribute to this type of research and to the development of the disciplines of Sociology and Public Administration. He delivers a public lecture at Erasmus University which is published.
The Jacques van Doorn Fellowship is an invitational fellowship.
