How to reach NIAS
GENERAL
NIAS is located approximately 40 km from the centre of Amsterdam, 30 km from Schiphol Airport, 12 km from the Central Station in Leiden, 6 km from the railway station in Voorschoten (no taxis and buses from here), and 13 km from the Central Station in The Hague (see map). The distance from the Institute to the village of Wassenaar (see map) is 2 km. The institute is situated in the residential area "Rijksdorp" (see map).
NIAS can be reached by taxi from the railway stations in Leiden and The Hague, but given the distances involved it is rather expensive. Nevertheless, when travelling to NIAS from the airport (with heavy luggage) the best solution is to take the train to Leiden and a taxi from there.
Here you can find information on the NIAS Campus.
