Pieter Boekholt, born in 1938. Ph.D. from the University of Groningen. Associate Professor of Modern History at the University of Groningen.

Fellow (1 September 1986 - 31 July 1987)

During my stay at NIAS, I had three projects:

1. to write a history of education and schools in the Netherlands between 1780-1980;
2. to continue research on the history of intellectual relations between Germany and the Netherlands from 1750 to 1920; and
3. to continue research on the elite in Drenthe in the second half of the century, recording as much detail as possible.
