Fellowships
NIAS Fellows are selected from prominent researchers and senior scholars in the humanities and social sciences who have already made a contribution to the development of their field.
The NIAS Fellowship Programme includes:- Individual NIAS Fellowships and Visiting Grants
- NIAS Fellowships as part of multidisciplinary research theme groups.
- Special, co-sponsored, Fellowships: Willem F. Duisenberg Fellowship, Distinguished Lorentz Fellowship, KB Fellowship, Van Doorn Fellowship, Golestan Fellowship, Henry G. Schermers Fellowship, Writer-in-Residence, Translator-in-Residence, Journalist-in-Residence, and EURIAS Fellowships.
All fellowships are residential and are awarded on the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee, whose membership is determined by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
The minimum requirement to be eligible for a NIAS Fellowship is three years post-Ph.D degree academic experience.
Fellowships are in principle awarded for a full research year from 1 September - 30 June or for one semester, i.e. from 1 September - 31 January or from 1 February - 30 June.
